Southside Wheely Wheelers.
New leisure cycling club started this week called Southside Wheely
Wheelers to provide an opportunity for the increasing numbers of
leisure cyclists in Kilmallock and surrounding areas to get on their
bikes.
Southside Wheely Wheelers will join Cycling Ireland and provide
cycling insurance for each cyclist. The new cycling club aims to
facilitate every cyclist, kids, beginners, ladies and gents of all
ages and abilities. Underage cycling from 8 years upwards, underage
cycling skills training, coaching sessions by a qualified Cycling
Ireland Coach, underage cycling league. Track cycling and fun events
to encourage fun cycling from an early age.
Leisure cycling for all ages and ability, beginners and improvers
catered for with controlled speed and low mileage groups as we will
cycle at your speed for an enjoyable cycle. If you want to start
cycling to get fit and healthy through cycling. Loose weight or stop
smoking we can help.
Woman On Wheels Ladies Cycling group will be formed for the girls to
enjoy a leisure cycle and cycle in a group.
The serious cyclist will also be catered for as many cyclists like to
challenge themselves by doing events like the Ring of Kerry Charity
Cycle, the Wicklow 200kms or the Sean Kelly 160kms Tour of Waterford
and may wish to take up racing. Then an experienced cycling group will
be a separate cycling group. Cycling Ireland Coach will help this
group to exceed their 2011 cycling challenging goals.
Club events are the Wednesday Night Light Cycle starting Wednesday
27th Oct at 7pm meet at the Castle Court Car Park. Cyclists are
requested to have of course a bike, cycling helmet, hi-viz vest and
lights. The cycle will be an enjoyable circuit around Kilmallock at an
enjoyable pace.
Cycling Specific Strength and Conditioning Class training session
especially for cyclists has been started in Bulgaden every Thursday
from 8.20pm to 9.20pm by Adrian O’Brian. 0879805464 All cyclists from
any cycling club are very welcome and this type of training will make
the winter shorter and you will be fitter for the 2011 cycling season.
Our club will cycle in the Cliona Ring 100km Charity Cycle on Saturday
6th November starting at 10am from the Honey Fitz Theatre Lough Gur.
Cycling legion Sean Kelly will also make a guest appearance and cycle
to support this wonderful Cliona Ring Foundation event.

Southside Wheely Wheelers are linked to the Cycle4SickChildren Cycling
Club to support their charity cycling events during 2011 and will help
in any way possible to help and support sick children through cycling.
Sunday morning cycling will start at 9.30am Sunday 7th November and
all members will be updated by text, also on our club website

Our first Social night out will be announced shortly and our new club
cycling jerseys and bib shorts will be ordered shortly.
It is a great opportunity to start cycling and have a wheely good time
cycling.
